Specialist Learning Support Assistants
The role of a Specialist Learning Support Assistant
Specialist Learning Support Assistants provide support and consistency for both our children and their parents.
Specialist Learning Support Assistants train for 18 weeks to understand the conditions we specialise in, our therapeutic and educational approaches and how to facilitate the children. Enabling access to, engagement and participation in the activities of the day, from learning, to play and self-care.
Specialist Learning Support Assistants can develop their skills further in key areas of our approach, becoming therapy assistants for Speech and Language (Communication Assistants, CA) and Occupational Therapy (OTA).
