Outcome measures
Outcome measures
At Pace we use standardised outcome measures as a formal assessment tool as a reliable and valid way of measuring certain skills. Outcome measures are usually designed for specific cohorts of children and part of our therapists’ role at Pace is choosing the right tool for each child so that the information we gain is useful and valid.
Classification scales are useful as a shared language for you and us as professionals and for the families to support the description of how their child is functioning. They are quick to use, and although they are less specific than standardised outcome measures, they are very useful to aid communication.
