Assessment
How it works
How it works
If you are concerned about your baby or child’s development, you can refer to our assessment and advice service, where your child will be assessed by our team of practitioners. You will be asked to complete a pre-assessment form in order to provide our specialists with further information about your child and concerns. The Child and Family Therapy Service consider each referral and will decide which practitioners are best to carry out an initial assessment. Assessment will be with at least two practitioners.
Our team comprises of specialist occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, and conductive and early educationalists. This breadth of expertise means we can make a comprehensive assessment of your child’s needs.
If we do not think we are the best people to help your child and family, we will recommend a more appropriate service.
