Pace Updates
In staff news, there has been a change to the Pace Leadership Team. Rich Wiltshire left Pace at the end of December and Caroline Bennett has been appointed as the new CEO by the Board of Trustees and started her new role on 1st January 2025.
Naomi Boles has joined Pace as Fundraising Manager organising our big events like the annual BIG Walk, marathon runners and plenty more throughout the year. 2024 Highlights
Here are some of the highlights from our fundraising efforts in 2024
- We started off 2024 with 200 Christmas tree collections with the support of Farmer Paul and a team of volunteers led by Calvin, which raised over £2,000.
- Pace was selected as the Mayor of Aylesbury’s Charity of the Year. This was a great opportunity for us to raise awareness of Pace in the community and funds. We were able to represent Pace at the Town Council events throughout 2024 including the Soapbox Derby, Parklife Weekend and Christmas on the Cobbles. The Mayor also visited Pace to support the children during a Christmas performance!
- 210 people took part in the Big Walk 2024 and the Superhero Mile and raised over £7,000 for Pace. This fantastic annual event would not have been as successful if not for the support of the Landrover Fanatics, Flannery Plant Hire, Woodholls Estate Agents, Motts Travel, Irwin Mitchell, Ukie TooNes, John Colet School and The Friends of the Ridgeway.
- Moogies fundraised throughout the year for Pace with events and through their menu with ‘Pace Beer Battered Haddock’ and ‘Pick up the Pace’ ale raising £2,133.34.
- Princes Risborough Young Farmers ended 2024 on a real high for us, fundraising for Pace and another charity with their annual Tractor Run. They managed to raise an amazing £17,190 with their supporters.
- Amy Randall ran the Big Half Marathon in London and raised over £500.
- Kyle Sweeney walked 20 miles for Pace and raised over £3,000.

Impact of the Funds Raised
The children and young people have been on some great trips and had access to clubs throughout 2024 providing new experiences and opportunities, enabling them to learn new skills and further develop their independence.
We were delighted to be invited to MK Gallery where our secondary school students from Oak Class enjoyed a sensory tour around the gallery and spending time looking at different art pieces on display.
We have also been able to hold workshops at the school, including Colourscape Sound Beam. This workshop gave the children the chance to see how they can make music with light beams by moving their bodies and playing instruments.
A definite highlight of the visits was the children going sailing and working towards ‘Sailability and Powerability’ Entry Level qualifications.
The children have also been able to take part in daily living skills classes as well as a range of lunchtime clubs including cooking, games and music.
