Does your child have feeding difficulties or a severely restricted diet, eating under 20 foods?
We can help. Our programme focuses on the evidence based SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Informed Approach to Feeding, supporting your child and family to work towards positive and pressure free eating. It is play based and family centred, helping children to eat a wider variety of foods by exploring them step by step.
Through play and positive experiences your child will develop comfort and confidence around food, gradually moving from looking, touching and smelling to tasting and eating.
Our programme starts with a telephone call where we talk to you about your child’s feeding patterns, health and goals. We will also talk to you about sharing some short videos of mealtimes with us.
Then you will have your face to face sessions with us in our Therapy Services Centre. These 4 sessions will be held over 2 weeks at Easter and include play based food exploration as well as coaching for you.
At the end of the programme we will share a summary report with you along with strategies for home and school.
Throughout the programme between your sessions you can contact your therapist with questions and send them updates. You can also record and send short videos.
Amy, our Occupational Therapist leads the programme. Amy is trained in the SOS Approach to feeding and also has experience in sensory integration and developmental feeding skills.
