The BIG Walk and Superhero Mile

The BIG Walk and Superhero Mile

Our annual BIG Walk took place on Saturday 10th May 2025. This year, we started at Dunstable Down and followed the Icknield Way and Ridgeway Trails back to Wendover. For the first time, we made our Superhero Mile into a sensory experience which the students and children who took part really enjoyed. We raised over £14,000 thanks to your generous support.

The day wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our sponsor Flannery Plant Hire. Additionally, with Motts Travel who provided the coaches, John Colet school who gave us use of their facilities for the Superhero Mile and the Land Rover Fanatics who marshalled the checkpoints. A special thank you to all of the volunteers throughout the day who helped with everything from registration to back walking.

Community Support

Community Support

Our connection to community groups throughout Bucks and beyond have continued to strengthen with donations from local churches and community groups. The Princes Risborough Young Farmers chose us as their charity of the year and have raised nearly £16,000 for Pace.

We were also chosen as the Mayor’s charity of the year and were able to raise awareness of Pace in the community through events. The Aylesbury Youth Council also organised an awareness event called ‘Purple for Pace’ and together they raised £9079.

Moogies fundraised throughout the year with events and through their menu with ‘Pace Beer Battered Haddock’ and ‘Pick up the Pace’ ale, raising £2133.34.

Our children and young people have been on some great trips and had access to clubs throughout the year providing new experiences and opportunities, enabling them to learn new skills and further develop their independence.  These included a visit to MK gallery where students from Oak Class enjoyed a sensory tour, workshops in school from Colourscape Sound Bean and the children going sailing and working towards ‘Sailability and Powerability’ Entry Level qualifications.
