Walk or cycle to improve the lives of disabled children

Both the walk and the cycle offer a choice of route distances so that no matter what your fitness level you can gather your friends and family to take part and help transform the lives of the children and their families.  Registration for both events is in Wendover, Buckinghamshire.  All routes finish in Wendover, where a warm welcome and celebration awaits you.

We still need volunteers!

If you would like to get involved with the Big Walk or the Sportive we have a host of volunteer roles available. Whether you are an individual or member of a group or society, here is a list of opportunities:

  • Back walkers (experienced ramblers) 18 Miles and 6 Miles
  • Marshals – 2 hour slots
  • Registration volunteers
  • Car park marshals
  • Set up/Breakdown

The Big Walk

This year’s Big Walk routes take in part of the Icknield Way Ridgeway Link and the Ridgeway Trail between Ivinghoe Beacon and Wendover. Refreshments, snacks and plenty of motivation will be provided en route by our guides and volunteers.  A warm, celebratory welcome will greet you at the end of the walk for you to enjoy with your friends and family.

There is a choice of three routes:

  • 18 miles – Dunstable Downs to Wendover  – Registration 6:45  am
  • 12 miles – Ivinghoe Beacon to Wendover – Registration 10:30 am
  • 6 miles – Wigginton to Wendover – Registration 1:45 pm

Registration is from 6.45 am at Wharf Rd, Wendover, Aylesbury HP22 6HF where parking will be available, then walkers will be shuttled to their chosen starting point by coach.

£10 registration fee.

Sportive

This year’s cycle has a choice of two routes. The cycles are Garmin routed, refreshments, snacks and plenty of motivation will be provided en route.  A warm, celebratory welcome will greet you at the end of the walk for you to enjoy with your friends and family.

  • 107 km cycle through Bucks, Beds and Herts – Registration 8:00 am
  • 50 km cycle through Bucks, Beds and Herts – Registration  8:00 am

Registration is from 8:00 am at Wharf Rd, Wendover, Aylesbury HP22 6HF

£25 registration, under 16 yr’s cycle for free, and must be accompanied.
